The NSW Swifts will once again host the Official Pre-Season Tournament of the ANZ Championship.
The three day tournament to be held at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre on Friday 5, Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 March will feature seven of the ten ANZ Championship teams giving netball fans their only chance to see so many of the world’s best players in the same place at the same time.
Participating ANZ Championships teams:
NSW Swifts
Adelaide Thunderbirds
Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel (NZ)
Central Pulse (NZ)
Melbourne Vixens
Queensland Firebirds
West Coast Fever
“Netball fans are once again going to get the opportunity to see 7 teams in one place at one time – with 21 elite matches of netball on show,” Netball NSW General Manager Carolyn Campbell said.
“This is the only time during the netball season that such a large number of teams come together and such great value for netball fans giving them three days of competition for only $30!"
The excitement surrounding the 2010 ANZ Championship season has been gaining momentum with much of the anticipation coming from the movement of players. With teams boasting re-jigged lineups, the Sydney Olympic Park Netball Cup will be the fan’s first chance to see how these teams are tracking prior to round one.
“Each year we see teams using this tournament as an opportunity to test players and strategise prior to the season and I expect 2010 to be no different.”
