Netball WA together with Western Power lit up O’Connor Primary School yesterday with 150 students receiving energy efficient light bulbs courtesy of Western Power. Whilst the light bulbs were a hit, the even bigger draw card was West Coast Fever player and Australian Diamonds squad member Caitlin Bassett.
Four classes at O’Connor Primary School in Boulder participated in netball clinics focusing on footwork, balance, ballwork and posture.
Caitlin, who towered over the primary school students ranging from seven to 12 year olds, really enjoyed the opportunity of working with the students and showing them skills that would help them in all sports, not just netball.
The students who did not participate in the clinic had the opportunity to meet with Caitlin and get a poster signed at recess and after school.
At the end of the day, Caitlin and Smarter than Smoking Netball Development Manager, Kodie Blay, met with Kathy Brooking the President of the Goldfields Netball Region.
