Netball`s night to shine!

In this glitzy and glamorous event the Diamonds and the World Youth Championship winning Australian 21/U team will swap their netball dresses and runners for gowns and heels, to celebrate an outstanding 2009 season.

Netball’s night of nights includes the presentation of the prestigious Liz Ellis Diamond, which recognises the player who receives the most votes for outstanding achievement in both the international arena and the ANZ Championship each year.   It is the highest individual honour in Australian netball.

Other awards include ANZ Championship Player of the Year, Holden International Player of the Year and ANPA 21/U Player of the Year.

This year a new award will be presented, New Idea’s Australia’s Favourite Diamond.

The magazine has nominated six Diamonds as finalists: Sharelle McMahon, Susan Pratley, Julie Corletto, Renae Hallinan, Natalie von Bertouch and Susan Fuhrmann and after a week of voting one will be named Australia’s favourite Diamond.
