Rosman Returns

By Emily Wise

Ex-West Coast Fever Captain Stacey Rosman has today been announced as the newly appointed Assistant Coach for Fever and High Performance Manager at Netball WA.

The full-time position has been created in a bid to not only support Norma Plummer in ensuring Fever are a force to be reckoned with this season, but to bridge the gap between elite and high performance netball in Western Australia.

Rosman arrived in WA from Queensland in 2002, and went on to represent the Perth Orioles for five years, before captaining West Coast Fever for two.

"It is a great opportunity to be working with undoubtedly the world's best coach.  I am extremely excited to be a part of this fresh start for Netball WA and West Coast Fever.”

As a Coach, Stacey has led and nurtured some of the states finest athletes. Over the years, she has sat at the helm of both Darling Range and West Coast Falcons state league teams, and was appointed this year to lead the State U/19s.

"I have a vested interest in Western Australian netball, having both played and coached the ten years I’ve been here. To be able to use my passion and dedication to contribute to the success of not only the elite, but drive development and growth of WA talent is going to be extremely rewarding"

Norma Plummer has nothing but praise for her Assistant, and believes she is most definitely the best candidate for the job.

“Stacey is a coach of the future – as a former Fever Captain she understands the system and her knowledge of the game is exemplary.”

It isn’t just West Coast Fever that Plummer feels will benefit from the appointment.

“I coached Stacey at the AIS in 1999 & 2000 and know that she understands the demands required to make it to the top in Netball. As High Performance Manager, she will be able to pass on her knowledge and experience to coaches alike, whilst assisting in developing netball within the state.”

The whole West Coast Fever squad will gather for the first time in Perth the weekend of 14th January to start their full pre-season preparation.
