West Coast Fever 2009 team
The Trans Tasman Netball League (TTNL) last night announced the official team lists for the 2009 ANZ Championship season including the new West Coast Fever line up.
Coach Jane Searle has focused her attention on youthful talent as the following 12 players have now been selected to the team.
Caitlin Bassett
Emma Beckett
Shae Bolton
Madison Browne
Johannah Curran
Bianca Franklin
Susan Fuhrmann
Andrea Gilmore
Josie Janz
Jasmine Keene
Stacey Rosman
Nikala Smith
New additions to the team include a number of talented WA players with Beckett a former Perth Orioles squad member and Keene a current Australian 21/U representative.
Star Goal Shooter, Australian 21/U and Australian Diamonds player, Caitlin Bassett, is again set to spearhead Fever’s attack in 2009 along with Australian 21/U rep Gilmore in defence.
Joining the team from Victoria are current Australian 21/U representatives Bolton and Browne (captain Australian 21/U) and strong Vixens defender Curran.
West Coast Fever Head Coach, Jane Searle, said “I am extremely pleased with the final team line-up, which is made up of the best WA based talent with additional high performing athletes joining us from over east. I have coached Browne and Bolton previously and hold them in high regard”.
The new Fever Head Coach is looking forward to forging a highly competitive team for 2009’s ANZ Championship.
“We have kept seven members of the previous team and complimented them with five others who will add some youthful flair to the group. We have opted not to import players from overseas in preference to working with the best up and coming athletes in the country. I think this group shows a huge potential to improve and they have already indicated a willingness to work hard in order to succeed”, she said.
The West Coast Fever team has already commenced pre-season training and will commence on-court training on 15 January 2009.
